Nizamikos
Macedonia - Nausa
Its name is due to the Nizamides, Turkish armed tax collectors whom the people of Naoussa tried to appease with this dance. The people of Naoussa danced and managed to get the Nizamides inside, who, due to their enthusiasm, reduced the tax. The Nizamikos is danced every year at the carnival of Naoussa under the name "Boules and Janissaries".
